When Agent Meara is speaking to Jeff Rosso, he says that there has never been an assassination attempt on a Vice President and that no one cares. This statement is incorrect as there have been at least two failed attempts. The assassination of Abraham Lincoln was a wider conspiracy and Vice President Andrew Johnson was also targeted. However, the man who was supposed to kill him, George Atzerodt, lost his nerve and didn't carry it out. Thomas Marshall, Vice President under Woodrow Wilson, was also the target of an assassination attempt in 1915. German-born Eric Muenter was opposed to the US supplying arms to the Allies during World War I and planted dynamite outside Marshall's office. The dynamite detonated prematurely and Marshall was unhurt.
