When the show begins, 'Dan' (Richard Kimble using yet another alias) is working at a liquor store for a real jerk-face. Soon Herbie (Warren Oates) comes into the place and tries to hold them up...but Dan recognizes that the guy isn't loaded and tells him that! Herbie then leaves the place with nothing...and the nasty owner comes out of the backroom and shoots the guy as he's leaving peaceably! Told you he was a jerk-face! It turns out there has been a string of liquor store robberies...but Herbie sure doesn't seem like the type.
On his way to make a delivery, Dan gets into the business' car...and Herbie is hiding in the backseat. He pulls a gun on Dan...but, remember, the gun isn't loaded. So Dan does nothing and tells Herbie to get lost...and he wanders off and Dan completes his delivery. Is this the last he's seen of Herbie? And, what's next for him?
This is a decent episode and easily illustrates the saying "No good deed goes unpunished"! Worth seeing...just so you can see Oates in one of more pusillanimous roles.
