Warning: Spoilers
Apparently somebody saw the "Star Trek" episode "The Deadly Years" and said, "Why don't we do something like that?". So they did.

CONTROL agents are getting old overnight because Felix (John Fiedler) in the photo department has invented a paint called "Dorian Gray". When it is painted on someone's picture, that person turns old and soon dies. After he kills off a number of CONTROL agents (several retire to Sun City) he turns his attention to Max, 99 and the Chief. They all do a terrific job playing elderly versions of themselves and the makeup is terrific (in fact, the old Maxwell Smart doesn't look that far off from Don Adams in the 1990's!). They get a clue when they realize Larabee is the only agent still young and the only one who hasn't had his new CONTROL id picture taken.

Funny writing and good performances all around. Guest John Fiedler (familiar to fans of "The Bob Newhart Show" as Mr. Peterson) shows once again (as he did on "Star Trek" as Rajak) his range, which includes great villainy under his meek exterior.
