Gidget (Sally Field) is on a date with Toby Prentiss (Robert Beach) but all she can talk about is things her dad (Don Porter) said. Toby says things to make Gidget question her relationship with her dad. Neither can remember the names of the other's dates, and Gidget's best friend Larue (Lynette Winter) says its a sign of jealousy. Gidget works hard to prepare a dinner at home for her dad and his date Barbara Leeds (Kathleen Crowley) and creates chaos in a comical scene. Now Gidget is sure of how she feels about her father being with any woman and tries to avoid him. He talks with his other daughter Anne (Betty Conner) and her husband John (Peter Dual), a psychology student. John surmises to Anne that her father is completely dependent on Gidget. As Gidget continues to avoid him, he calls upon Meg (Anne Bellamy) for a romantic backdoor barbecue, but Barbara soon shows up with a bouillabaisse. If three is a crowd, imagine the scene when five of his friends show up. Gidget and her father sit down for a father/daughter talk.
The premise is rather weird when you think deeply on it. But, there is some nice comedic moments here, which we don't often see with the series.
