Rose's Big Adventure (#3.22)
ComedyFan201020 January 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Rose's boyfriend finally gets to retire, but instead of having fun he just spends all his time sitting on the couch watching television. After Rose talks to him he says they should sail around the world. Rose agrees but he is too seasick to do such thing. And the girls also get their garage redone with a help of an old architect.

Some good ideas. I was wondering how they will keep Rose in Miami, the guy being sick was a good way out without making Rose the one who didn't want any adventure.

And the architect scenes were pretty fun as well, especially Sophia's translations of what he said.

Rose considers sailing around the world.

Warning: Spoilers
There's a bit of fun naughtiness to this episode which focuses on the girl's efforts to redo the garage and Rose's efforts get her recently retired boyfriend Al to do something more than sit at home and watch TV. When he decides to buy a yacht and travel around the world, he invites Rose which puts her in a dilmena. George Coe is good as Al, but it is Vito Scotti who area the show as the horny Vincenzo who takes over the garage construction who gets the bulk of the laughs. Sophia's translation of what Vincenzo says is equally funny, as are the introductions to Rose's crispy desert that must be eaten with one hand on your nose. Scotti doesn't speak a lick of English, but his perverted Italian muttering and agreeing to every insult that Sophia throws at him is very funny. The conclusion is a real knee slapper.

Romantic troubles for Rose.
Sleepin_Dragon23 May 2023
Blanche and Dorothy have had enough of their builder Ernie, who's become incredibly work shy, the hunt for a new contractor begins. Rose's boyfriend Al has retired, and taken to life as a couch potato.

One of those episodes where you can't help feeling sorry for poor Rose, another relationship that goes belly up.

It is funny, and perhaps not a classic, but there are definitely lots of funny moments to enjoy. Sophia once again gets the lion's share of the one liners, and as always Gettie delivers, a woman is at her sexual peak at 83. The workforce were also really amusing.

Vincenzo was a good laugh, the fact that he couldn't speak English was a funny twist.

Funny and somewhat moving.

7/10.
