  Governor : Air Force security... Both Peking and Washington agreed. Thing should be handled as unostentiously as possible... That stresses the fact that his visit is unofficial. That he's here by invitation of an old wartime friend... After all, Norton Hummel is a private American citizen. However, if Mr. Hummel and the Chinese minister want to chitchat about possible Chinese-American trade relations, that's just fine.

  Det. Steve McGarrett : And if they don't succeed, nobody loses face.

  Governor : Exactly.
