While a far from great episode, it's still worth seeing.

This episode of "Hawaii Five-O" is not without problems, but it's still decent and watchable. I know this isn't a glowing endorsement, but a mediocre or even sub-par episode of this great series is worth seeing.

One problem is immediately apparent and that is that this episode involves the music industry. I know that in all the other cases this means the episode will not be very good--and was the case with one which featured Sal Mineo as a singer and another featuring Yvonne Elliman and all the other musical episodes. Also, I know this might sound catty but while Lois Nettleton was a fine actress in this and many other shows, her singing was not great.

The other problems are logical lapses. The episode involves Nettleton witnessing a murder and then being places in protective custody to keep the mobster killer from killing her. Yet, in one scene, she walks outside the hiding house with McGarrett and in another she's sitting next to an open window playing her guitar. Could it have been any easier for the killer?! Still, the show is decent and I did appreciate the ending.

More mobsters!

If it weren't for Chinese spies and the never-ending string of mobsters and mob bosses, it seems like Hawaii would be a great place to live and 5-0 a lot less busy.

Here a shady club owner get in an argument with a singer who thinks he should do more for her career, and in a physical altercation he slugs her and she goes over his penthouse railing. His previous singing success, played by Lois Nettleton, sees it all 'go down' and thus is suspected of being a witness.

5-0 plays a bit of cat and mouse with the crooks trying to keep her safe, as we get the idea she'll be staying in protective custody in McGarrett's beach house for several weeks!

In fact, they both discuss their lonely lives! I see a short love affair in Steve's future. LOL.
