As McGarrett and the Navy begin their surveillance of Ormsby and Chiang, McGarrett initially gets into his old Park Lane but several minutes later during the surveillance, he's driving his newer Marquis Brougham.
Initially the missile launch is a Polaris ICBM. This cuts to a Tomahawk cruise missile showing the separation of booster rocket motor and the ignition of the jet engine.
The U. S. Navy Ford LTD that Pat Hingle was driving with Soon Tek Oh had rather crude lettering of the words "U. S. Navy" and did not include the usual "For Official Use Only" lettering. Also, there were no U. S. Government license plates. In fact there were no plates at all.
McGarrett says that Lew Kameka was the "Judas goat" and he ended up being led to the slaughter. However, the terminology is in error, as a "Judas goat" means a trained goat used in the herding of sheep and cattle.
After the bullet-shaped capsule is retrieved from the missile and given to Ormsbee, Chaing suddenly whips out a handgun and forces him to return to the hideout. Where he obtained the gun is not shown or explained, as prior to this he was released from custody.
As a well-trained spy, the character Chaing would have been alert to potential traps such as the question about the 1962 World Series, his lack of knowledge of which revealed him to be an impostor. A master spy would have subsequently researched the matter, discovered that he had been tricked, and called a halt to the plot.
