Generally good, but one part of the episode made little sense...
planktonrules4 December 2009
This episode is named the way it was because a rich guy's young son is kidnapped and the kidnappers wear a frog and a devil mask so the child cannot identify them. The film begins with the kid in their custody, but the smart little nipper makes his escape. In the meantime, his father has already paid the ransom (doh!). So it's up to McGarrett to discover who the kidnappers were as well as find the money.

Fortunately, it wasn't hard to find the hideout and they also find one of the kidnappers...dead. It seems he fell and was badly hurt when he was chasing the kid in the darkness. So, his 'pal' shot him because it was too much trouble to try to save him. Nice guy, huh? McGarrett knows that the first thing the kidnapper will try to do is sell off the money to a rich crook who can hold it for a few years until the heat is down and it won't be recognized. So, McGarrett does his best to scare all the rich crooks on the island that could purchase this hot money--to scare them and force the kidnapper to try to spend it.

In a bizarre twist, late in the episode the rich guy is contacted by the kidnapper and he is offered his $300,000 back...for $75,000. This is because the crook just can't sell it. This makes no sense for two reasons. First, wouldn't this $75,000 be just as hard to spend?! Second, why wouldn't the rich guy tell McGarrett--and that way get his money back AND save the extra $75,000?! Duh. I really wish they'd worked all this out, as the show ended on a sour note. Otherwise, a good show--and I really, really wish I could get one of those Mr. Frog masks--it was so cool!

Is the Frog Head From "Lost In Space?"

That frog head looks like it came from "Lost In Space," specifically from the episode "The Golden Man." Is it possible? Both were CBS shows. Props were expensive. I think it is the head of the frog alien who Penny Robinson befriended.

Melody Patterson rocks

I was a teen when F-Troop came on the air, and always had a secret crush on her. She is an all grown up adult in this episode of Hawaii Five O. This is the sexiest she has ever looked in her entire career, sporting a black, slinky mini-dress in most of her scenes, Her short blonde hair was worn in a 60's bob that was popular at the time and her legs dazzled. I'm surprised she didn't move on to more mature roles that played up her beauty, but it wasn't meant to be.

You need not be a fan of the series to appreciate this episode.
