THE CLASSIC CAR AND TWO DEAD BODIES?
tcchelsey20 November 2023
This was a Christmas episode, and a rather neat mystery.

Kim (Poncie Ponce) goes into the limmo business, purchasing a classic 1930s car. There's only one problem. The car has a "history" and some baddies want whatever is hidden inside. This episode especially takes on a dark, almost noirish feel with some very interesting characters at large.

The old stretch limmo, which actually looks like a funeral car, is kind of creepy too!

Next thing, Kim is kidnapped, and Tracy and Tom are in a bind.

Great supporting cast with two of the best character actors. Popular J. Edward McKinley plays Leo and mysterious Tristram Coffin plays Woodruff. Coffin, who was also a radio announcer for years, appeared in dozens of films, either as a detective or villain. Look quick for Max Baer, Jr. In an early role, just before the BEVERLY HILLBILLIES.

Cricket has a fun scene singing "I'm Wild About Harry!"

This was the only episode directed by actor Byron Kane, who also appeared on the series. Kane was best known as Barney, the bartender on PETER GUNN. Exceptionally written by Sylvia Richards, who wrote six episodes. Richards is best remembered for writing two classic films, RUBY GENTRY and POSSESSED (1947) for Joan Crawford.

Great late night stuff. SEASON 3 EPISODE 13 remastered Warner Brothers/ABC tv dvd box set.
