A good one

I just rewatched this episode, and I got a number of laughs out of it. Everyone seems at the top of their game. Schultz, Klink, Carter, Newkirk, Burkhalter, and his sister all get great comedic moments. The bit with Carter answering the phone always makes me chuckle.

The episode was just too rushed.

In this packed show we have two situations that have arose that needs to be taken care of by Hogan. The first is that a Gestapo agent has infiltrated the underground and has set up the agents to be captured during an attempted sabotage event the following evening. Plus we have the return of Burkhalter's sister, Gertrude Linkmeyer, that has eyes for our beloved Colonel Klink.

Helga is on leave from Klink's office and paperwork is stacking up. Klink asks General Burkhalter for another secretary and he sends his sister Gertrude to handle the job. Hogan advised Klink that Gertrude may be working for the Gestapo and he needs to be sweet to her. But being nice to Gertrude may mean wedding bells for Klink.

As for the Gestapo agent that has infiltrated the underground, Friedlaw, is part of the agents that are set to blow-up an oil refinery. He is to have all the underground arrested at the scene by SS troops. Hogan has to get word to the underground about the spy and also another target that will be wide open for sabotage.

There is a lot going on in this episode, perhaps too much. The story of Klink and Gertrude is always entertaining and would have made a good show in itself. But when they threw in another side-plot the story seemed rush. They could have made two nice shows out of this script but what we have here is two stories that was cut way short.
