Great script
mpmbd28 October 2010
Of the Ironside episodes I have seen recently, this one has the best script. Without spoiling it, the story starts a little slow and predictable. New twists and angles appear as things progress. A bit of excitement here, an amusing happening there. Clever new tactics devised by the protagonists as things progress. And Barbara Anderson is the most attractive ever in this episode. She also has opportunities to display her talents and abilities in ways not present in most of the other episodes. Other than Raymond Burr, the majority of the actors portraying regular main characters in the Ironside series appeared in few TV programs and movies after the series ended production.

More like a Rockford Files story

Beah Richards best known for playing Sidney Poitier's mother in Guess Who's Coming To Dinner plays Don Mitchell's aunt in this Ironside episode. She gets taken by a couple of conmen, Joseph Campanella and Philip Pine out of her life savings. Big mistake to bring down the personal attention of Ironside's team.

What they discover early on was that this and other similar occurrences was to get seed money for a different kind of bunco involving rich people at a plush resort. Don Galloway and Barbara Anderson go undercover as just such a pair of rich yuppies. Of course they get the goods on Campenella and Pine, but it isn't easy because Campanella is no fool.

This Ironside episode looks more like it belonged in The Rockford Files. Still it's a more serious look than The Rockford Files would have made it.
