I'm gonna find him and I'm gonna clear him
sol-kay3 August 2013
****SPOILERS**** Looking to buy his friend Officer Eve Whitfield, Barbara Anderson, a birthday present Chief Ironside, Raymond Burr, spots this painting at a bizarre that looks like the work of his good friend Danny Fielder, William Paul Burns. Danny had disappeared out of sight three years ago after his wife Leona's, Lorraine Gray, chauffeur Ralph Neil was found murdered at her beach house with him being the prime suspect in his murder. With Danny being declared dead after his car crashed into the Pacific Ocean Ironside is now certain that he's in fact alive and is determined to find him. And from the painting that has a bird on it only found in Mexico and Central America he feels that's where he's been hiding all these years.

In Mexico Ironside and his valet Mark Sanger, Don Mitchell, do track down Fielder in this out of the way Mexican village where he's treated by the local villagers like a God due to the paintings he paints that brings in most of the village's hard US currency. There's also a number of hired hit men working for Leona dad ex-con and now respectable businessman Jack Stuart, Broadrick Crawford, who want's Fiedler dead for hi turning his daughter into an falling on her face alcoholic together with Ironside & Stanger. Who both just happen to be there and are now able to prove that Fielder wasn't in fact killed three years ago and that Neil's death may have well been caused by his daughter Leona in a blind and drunken rage.

***SPOILERS**** The mystery of who murdered Leona's chauffeur Ralph Neil wasn't all that hard for Ironside to solve. Neil's killer was the fist person to be at the scene of the crime that the police somehow overlooked. It's when Leona invited Ralph Neil, who was hot for her, into her beach-house for a drink that he completely lost himself and ended up getting killed in the process. It was Ironside who tripped the killer up by faking a three year old traffic report, that Neil's killer fell for lock stock & barrel, making it impossible for Neil's killer time-line in the killing fit his alibi! As for Leona's dad Jack Stuart by resorting back to his old strong arm or better yet hit-man tactics to have Fielder as well as Ironside and Sanger murdered his life as a freed rich and law abiding citizen had abruptly came to a sudden end.

Open and shut case gets reopened

Some years ago there was a notorious murder in which a drugged woman was found near a dead man who was stabbed and a note left by a third party, her husband confessing to the deed. Almost immediately he drove his car off a cliff and was presumed dead.

But the man who was an artist started having some recent paintings show up and they indicate he is alive. And more than likely William Paul Burns is in Mexico. How Raymond Burr deduces that is interesting. But the team is off to Mexico to search for the truth.

Besides Burns some good guest star turns come from Barbara Werle as the drunken wife and Broderick Crawford as her rich father.

Nice trip south of the border for the team.
