The Ironside team mixes business with pleasure in this episode when they have to solve a series of burglaries including one at the British consulate. In the other two burglaries $3000.00 was taken, no more no less, in the case of the consulate, a codebook.
But it's a pleasure for the Chief to be hosting some colleagues from police forces around the world, most especially John Williams from Scotland Yard. It's how Raymond Burr and the team got on this particular case.
I wish I could rate this higher, but I'm not sure how the mastermind was able to enforce on his accomplices the rule of taking $3000.00 and only $3000.00 on a bunch of professional criminals. There is a fourth and a big job where a printing place is broken into and several millions in Venezuelan currency is stolen. I'll bet you didn't know the Venezuelans had their money printed in the USA.
Not too far into this story movie fans will recognize distinct elements from the noir classic Kansas City Confidential. I have no need to say more to those who've seen that great film.
