General Christophe was likely named in honor of Henri Christophe (1767-1820), a revolutionary leader in Haiti's 1804 war of independence from France. Christophe served as president of Haiti from 1811 until his death in 1820.
The title comes from the song "Get Me To The Church On Time" from the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe musical/movie My Fair Lady (1964). The original Broadway production of "My Fair Lady" opened at the Mark Hellinger Theater in New York on March 15, 1956, and ran for 2717 performances, which was, at the time, the longest run a Broadway show had ever had.
