A pair of young English actors are arrested when their troupe manager bolts town with the gate receipts without paying the company's bills. Chad, in town pursuing an outlaw, convinces the sheriff to leave the young men in his care and turns them loose outside of town to return an earlier favor. The thespians decide to try to con a small community by pretending to be a preacher and a recent convert, but their act works better than they wished and soon the fake-minister is conducting an illegal wedding between a gunslinger and his fiancée.
