- Ed Green: Looks like Denise Meacham cares for Elliott just about as much as you do.
- Lennie Briscoe: Well, he did put her husband in harm's way.
- Ed Green: Please.
- Lennie Briscoe: What?
- Ed Green: As if the dude living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue ain't had nothin' to do with it? Same dude who lied to us?
- Lennie Briscoe: And you know he lied because...?
- Ed Green: I don't see any weapons of mass destruction. Do you?
- Lennie Briscoe: Hey, they were there, and you know how I know? 'Cause the daddy of the guy at 1600 sold them to a certain son of a bitch who used to live in Baghdad. That's how I know.
- Lennie Briscoe: [arriving at a crime scene in a cab] Always a nickel short and a dime late.
- Ed Green: What the hell does that mean?
- Lennie Briscoe: What do you want from me? It's two o'clock in the morning.
- Lennie Briscoe: Okay, a shooter nobody saw, a bullet everybody uses, and a guy half the world wants dead.
- Ed Green: The EMT says he's probably gonna make it
- Lennie Briscoe: Yeah. Only the good die young.
- Ed Green: Let me ask you something, Colonel. Do you know of any soldiers getting tattoos that say "business is good"?
- Lt. Colonel Doug Denton: It's a slogan. Second half of one, anyway. Harcore members of the 81st put it on their left arm.
- Lennie Briscoe: Uh-huh. And, uh, what do they put on their right arm?
- Lt. Colonel Doug Denton: "Killing is our business".
- Ed Green: I can't wait 'till the press gets a hold of this.
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: Honestly, I don't understand your concern.
- Serena Southerlyn: Frank Elliott is unlikeable to begin with. Calling him a traitor gives the jury reason to acquit.
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: He did give military secrets to the enemy.
- Serena Southerlyn: Oh, come on, Andrew. It's not like he was selling nuclear secrets.
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: Really? How many people actually died because of the Rosenbergs? My guess, it's three less than died because of Frank Elliott.
- Jack McCoy: You want the politically correct reponse to that?
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: Shoot.
- Jack McCoy: You're walking a razor's edge. It could tear the First Amendment in half.
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: And the politically incorrect response?
- Jack McCoy: You're gonna ruin my case!
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: I've got a cousin who's over there, and I don't want him coming home in a bag because of some pinhead like Elliott.
- Jack McCoy: You'll never win.
- AUSA Andrew Spivack: Maybe I just think it's a point that's worth getting made sooner rather than later.
- Frank Elliott: Last chance, babe. I'm leaving tomorrow.
- Gia Whitchurch: [clearly not interested] How many times have I heard that?
- Frank Elliott: Yeah, but this time I might not be coming back.
- Gia Whitchurch: [hopeful] Promise?
- Frank Elliott: Come on, Gia. You and me, it wasn't that bad, was it?
- Gia Whitchurch: There was no "you and me". There was you, me, your cameraman, your producer, your three cell phones, and, uh... last but not least, your wife.
- Frank Elliott: Yeah, I like to fill up my day.
- Gia Whitchurch: Don't we all? Guess you haven't heard.
- [showing him the ring on her finger]
- Gia Whitchurch: I'm engaged.
- Lennie Briscoe: Hey, is that Frank Elliott?
- Ed Green: Mm-hmm. The one and only. Took one in the back.
- Lennie Briscoe: Aw, what a shame.
- Ed Green: Hey, man, pretend to be concerned, okay?
- Ed Green: Hey, Lennie, he comes out this club loaded, he makes it around the corner, somebody starts shooting.
- Lennie Briscoe: Anybody see the shooter?
- Ed Green: No. Looks like Elliott finally made it to a crime scene before we did.
- Dr. Binder: Afraid he won't be much help tonight.
- Ed Green: He's gonna make it, though, right?
- Dr. Binder: Bullet perforated his liver. He managed to seal it off, so as long as it doesn't go septic on us, we should have him stabilized relatively soon.
- Lennie Briscoe: We talking hours, days?
- Dr. Binder: Mm, best guess, twenty-four, forty-eight hours. He's gonna be in a lot of pain, though. I don't know how long it'll be before he feels strong enough to talk.
- Lennie Briscoe: Well, knowing Frank, it won't be that long.
- Ed Green: Okay, that's not funny anymore.
- Jack McCoy: If the justice Department actually considered what he did treason, why did they wait all that time to arrest him?
- Arthur Branch: To brace themselves for the political repercussions.
- Jack McCoy: And they're finally braced... now... right when we're about to go to trial against a soldier. You know what I'm gonna do?
- Arthur Branch: You're gonna give the Assistant U.S. Attorney in charge of this Elliot thing... a chance to present his case before you fly off into the wild blue yonder.
- Arthur Branch: The fact is, the majority of informed Americans approve of this war.
- Jack McCoy: Informed? By who?
