Quotes
-
Lennie Briscoe : Hold it right there! Hold it.
Ed Green : Taking a little trip somewhere?
Bobby Ito : Going to visit my cousin in L.A.
Ed Green : Oh, yeah? You got a taxi waiting for you down at the bottom of the fire escape?
Lennie Briscoe : Hey, Ed. Look at this. A .22.
Bobby Ito : That's not mine. You guys planted that.
Lennie Briscoe : Yeah, that's really original. I never heard that before.
-
Uniform Officer : Couple of Japanese tourists got shot and robbed. Wife took one in the face, husband tried to wrestle with the guy for the gun, got blasted in the arm.
Ed Green : You get a description of the perp?
Uniform Officer : Black male, between twenty and thirty.
Lennie Briscoe : That's it? Height, weight?
Uniform Officer : He was rambling in Japanese. He's in shock.
Lennie Briscoe : Yeah, I would be, too.
Ed Green : What'd the shooter make off with?
Uniform Officer : Wife's purse, cash and jewelry.
Ed Green : Where'd it go down?
Uniform Officer : Over there.
Lennie Briscoe : CSU on the way?
Uniform Officer : Should be here any minute. I found a couple of casings.
Ed Green : Looks like a .22.
Lennie Briscoe : Yeah, if we get lucky, maybe we'll find the slugs.
Uniform Officer : Well, we might find the one that winged the husband. The other's still in the wife's skull. No exit wound.
Lennie Briscoe : That'll wreck your vacation.
-
Dr. Nelson : The bullet entered her right cheek at point-blank range, just below the eye, then ricocheted around the brain.
Lennie Briscoe : Is she gonna make it?
Dr. Nelson : The damage is extensive. We'll know more in the next few days.
Ed Green : What about her husband's condition?
Dr. Nelson : Bullet went through his right upper arm; just missed the brachial artery. He should be okay. Lucky guy.
Lennie Briscoe : Any chance we can speak to him?
Dr. Nelson : Keep it brief. I'll get you the room number.
Ed Green : You'll contact us if Mrs. Yoshida comes out of it?
Dr. Nelson : Frankly, that's a big "if".
-
Lennie Briscoe : The husband's a club owner in Tokyo. Wife's a model. Apparently, they're fairly well-known over there. Celebrities.
Anita Van Buren : They here on business?
Ed Green : Mm-mm. Vacation. It was the wife's first time.
Lennie Briscoe : They decided to pay a visit to Ground Zero, got lost on the way back to the hotel.
Anita Van Buren : Welcome to the Big Apple.
-
Ed Green : We're pulling files on similar M.O.s with that general description.
Anita Van Buren : What about that red van? Any make or model?
Lennie Briscoe : No specifics.
Anita Van Buren : And there were no other witnesses?
Ed Green : It's a commercial district downtown on a Sunday. The place ain't exactly hopping.
Anita Van Buren : Makes you wonder what the perp was doing there.
Lennie Briscoe : Why? You thinking he followed them?
Anita Van Buren : Innocent tourists gunned down in the street. It's shades of Miami in the '90s.
Ed Green : I remember that. What, like, uh... twelve tourists got killed in a single year?
Lennie Briscoe : Yeah, let's hope the press doesn't run with that bull.
