This episode had great potential but soon fades out and becomes rather benign.

It takes place in New York City during the turn of the last century as Loretta and her well-to-do husband await the arrival of a friend and her husband. They have never met the husband and the wife was a childhood friend.

Only the husband arrives and announces to Loretta that he and his wife separate. He appears to fall for Loretta and I thought a triangle relationship would develop.

Instead, he is always there and accompanies her when she is having her portrait done. Coincidentally, the woman doing the portrait shows a striking resemblance to his estranged wife and suddenly without fanfare he announces that he is returning to her.

Loretta makes it then appear that she on purpose had the artist directly opposite the husband as he would see the resemblance and absence makes the heart grow fonder.
