- Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): After Locke's mother approaches him, she tells him that he has no father because he was "immaculately conceived." Immaculate Conception refers to the Catholic dogma asserting that Mary was specially conceived free of the taint of original sin (at the time of her own conception); it does not, as many believe, refer to the doctrine of Jesus' virgin birth, which is an entirely separate event.
- Continuity: When Sawyer is seated on the beach and Jack approaches him about his headaches, Sawyer mentions that his uncle had a brain tumor. The camera angle changes from Jack's perspective to Sawyer's perspective, back and forth, about 5 or 6 times. Jack has on a leather backpack in some of these shots and sometimes has a sporty grey backpack. You can see the difference in the width of the shoulder straps!
