I just happened to watch this episode recently on COZI TV and really wasn't paying attention until I heard the term Early Onset Alzheimer's. I did a double take. It only seems that the disease has come to public attention in the last twenty years. A quick look up and I found this episode ran in 1974. Whoever the writer was, he was certainly ahead of his time. The plot itself follows a young politician who starts forgetting things and gets the diagnosis. The plot twists again when it is discovered his wife is pregnant and he worries given his prognosis that he may end up as a "baby" himself being taken care of. The episode ends with him holding his child but as to what the future will bring and how fast is left up in the air. Still, a surprising subject to debut in 74.
