This episode finally shows why arsenio hall shouldn't be on a tv drama show ... he's a ham and screws up every scene he's in ... i rest my case ... some cops ... they couldn't protect a child from his drug lord father who should be in jail rather than harassing his ex-wife

SUBSTITUTES is something of a stock filler episode of MARTIAL LAW in which Sammo and Arsenio Hall go undercover in an elementary school in their hunt for a Colombian drug lord, whose kid attends class there. This is an all-out comedy with lots of over the top, supposedly humorous moments. The fight scenes are few and far between, and the most notable one has Louis Mandylor fighting a thug in a car park. The rest sees Arsenio Hall mugging uncontrollably and Sammo going through the motions.
