Run!
Alrighty, we are at part one of the Armageddon finale, these are the last two episodes of the series, and man, are they ever so chock-full of deadly danger, destiny, duty, and all-round awesome epicness!!! Skullmaster's back and on a major warpath - After charging his newly-reforged Crystal of Souls with the spirits of his mindless lizardmen slaves, evil begins to rise up all over the world, and our heroes are quite out-gunned as they are hunted and chased by deadly threats from past adventures wherever they go, all controlled by Skullmaster who has his sights firmly set on the Cosmic Cap and ultimate power! And not that there ever was with this show, but there's no sugah-coating this now - it's the freaking apocalypse!!!! And there's such a fantastic sense of urgency and peril to these last two episodes, I mean yeah there's been other stories that are apocalyptic in tone, but definitely not so much as this last big one. It has a constant flow and just keeps moving. It's not too scary or anything, but it certainly ain't all sweetness and light either. I was consistently impressed with how well the show always got that balance just right. And what they did with this one basically was that they got together a bunch of monsters from the series, not all of them, but it's still really fantastic to see so many in one two-part story. And barring one rather annoying part of the episode that plays like a damn clip-show, most of the action's an endless chase as the characters try to find some kind of sanctuary. It was a delight to see the slimy slithering giant eyeball creature from "Day of the Cyclops" again. My favourite part of the episode is the monumental bit of animation that shows the eye, now inhabiting the monstrous skeleton which once laid inanimate at the bottom of the Cyclops' cave, roaring in the midst of a thunderstorm! And I chose to see that as a sweet little moment of fan service, because we never actually got to see any cyclops in that episode and for a moment here it's like we sorta do! One more thing, not that anyone'll likely care, but I'd like to explain why I bothered to review all the series' episodes, if I may.. Well for one thing I liked to, it was fun, but it was also my humble intention to do my small part to make the show look good to people who have never seen it before, y'know? To try and show that it's a tremendously excellent and very special animation with a rich wit and vastly appealing heroic characters as well as the evil enemies, and one that is well worthy of being enjoyed and remembered far into the future. Anyway roll on part deux!

Violent for a TV Cartoon
shelbythuylinh21 November 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It has tones of death and tones of in the good against evil. As Max was shown that over Virgil and Norman their home and how Virgil show that over in prophesy to be fulfilled except Max must leave it up to him.

Skullmaster is back and worse than ever and wants to take the cap for himself. For his own benefit. As now the three will try or die trying on it.

Really too violent for a cartoon but on the other hand hits real life.
