- Person on Tape: Good morning, Mr. Phelps. The man you are looking at is Alex Cresnic, one of the world's largest dealers in heroin. Recently, Cresnic made his biggest deal. He bought the entire heroin crop of an Asiatic country and smuggled it into Marseilles, where he plans to wholesale it to his major buyers. In order to get enough financing for such a big operation, Cresnic took in a partner. His name is Mark Walters, head of the Numbers Bank in Miami. The mission, Jim, should you decide to accept it, is to prevent Cresnic and Walters from selling their heroin and put them out of business permanently. As always, should you or any of your IM Force be caught or killed, the Secretary will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This recording will self-destruct in five seconds. Good luck, Jim.

- James Phelps: [to Cinnamon Carter] There aren't too many women who can claim to be widowed twice by the same man.
- Narcotic Dealer: You told us Walters was dead.
- Alex Cresnic: Well, I thought he was. I saw him in the morgue. It's a trick. Don't you see, it's all a trick? You've got to believe me. I don't know anything about this!
