Do you have your attorney present?
NinaNatasha29 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Fran...."Oh, my attorney present? Ohh, ohh, you know what? I'm not going to get him anything. Let's see how he does first."

The look of bewilderment on the face of the judge is priceless.

Fran tells Val that her uncle who is her lawyer,, is strictly "pro bono" for the family. Val replies, "Really? Well I'm glad he's not representing me because I'm pro Cher!" Funny stuff!

The surprise is that her uncle is none other that Milton Berle. I nearly lost it when he used the "Johnnie Cochran defence" to try and get Fran acquitted.

Maxwell arrives in court while the defence rests....more like sleeps. Max fares no better. It's priceless when Fran tells Max to go sit down with the rest of "The Dream Team".

An unexpected episode for The Nanny. ...but I laughed quite a bit, hence my rating.

The outfit Fran is wearing in court is, (to me), a hideous color but it looks great on her as usual!

Hold It! Hold It!

Warning: Spoilers
I...I object, I object. Says Uncle Manny (Milton Berle) as he walks through the doors into the courtroom.

Judge - "You object to what?" Uncle Manny - "To those electric doors in the Men's room." Judge - "That's the elevator".

Excellent stuff. Actually quite a few corny jokes in court but they land very well.

Judge...frustrated - "Ms. Fine would you just like to plead?" Fran - "Yes I would. (Fran then gets on her knees to beg). Oh please, please don't send me to jail." Funny stuff.

Then Maxwell enters the courtroom to save the day and fares no better than Uncle Manny. Fun fact, Charles Shaughnessy, who plays Maxwell, actually has a law degree from Cambridge.

Last spoiler but they are in court due to a party thrown at the Sheffield mansion in his absence.....that got out of control.

Lots of laughs. An usual but excellent episode from Season 3.

When the producer's away, the help will play.

Warning: Spoilers
Fran finds herself in the hot seat when she throws a party, inviting people over for a small fee, and finds herself arrested for supposed soliciting. Maggie tries to help Fran save her job, and when she ends up in court, her lawyer shows up to defend her, it's none other than Fran's great uncle,Milton Berle, in one of his last appearances. Berle's appearance is a nice little late episode surprise, and of course, there's a reference to his past in drag. The characters at the party are all wacky, especially those dancing with Fran, and one with the painted on hair is the most unforgettable of them all. Still, it's an odd episode that in spots is a real head-scratcher.
