- GoofsWhen Joel is talking to the policeman, the cop says that he can't file a missing person report for another 24 hours, quoting 'the rules'. There is no rule that stipulates a minimum time before a missing person report can be filed; it depends on the circumstances: a missing one year old would be treated differently from a missing 30 year old, for example.

Mind Your Own Business
The title of this review says it all. A good many of our problems come about because people can't mind their own businesses. It starts with Marilyn getting an investment check and deciding to go on an adventure. She chooses Seattle. Once Fleischman gets wind of this, he can't leave her alone. Not only does he treat her like a child when it comes to travel, he plots out an itinerary, including a driver to pick her up and reservations at a hotel. All of which she ignores. After all, it is Marilyn.
In the other plot development, Holling enrolls in a GED program to finally get his high school diploma. This is a wonderful part of the plot. Where the mind your own business thing comes in is when Maggie realizes that the teacher, who has military experience, doesn't buy into her sisterhood thing and they come to words. Maggie's smugness and demeaning response to her is sickening. What she says is that because she is a woman, she should think like Maggie. It is none of her business!
Joel's over the top search for Ms. Whirlwind is delightful, if not pretty unbelievable. But then again, this is Northern Exposure.
