David Jason described Barry Gibb as wonderfully self-effacing. Gibb invited Jason and Nicholas Lyndhurst into his house, gave them tea and showed them around; the place was like a palace. Gibb was a big fan of the show and used to get tapes of it sent to America.
This episode is frequently subtitled as "Oh to Be in England", despite that title appearing nowhere in the opening or closing credits. The episode is actually just called "Miami Twice" and the subtitle is the result of an editorial mix-up in the 1991 Christmas edition of the Radio Times. They incorrectly attached "Oh to Be in England" to the listing, when it actually belonged to an episode of 'The Darling Buds of May' that was screened a month later in January 1992 and also starred David Jason. If you check the names of two episodes of 'The Darling Buds of May' screened in January 1992, you will see they are called "Oh to Be in England."
The episode really was filmed in Miami, Florida compared to the Series 2 episode It Never Rains when freezing Dorset with the lights turned up bright filled in for Spain.
David Jason's favorite episode.
The room they recorded the episode in was the favored suite of Al Capone. David Jason considered Capone a more violent Del Boy.
