The concepts dealt with in PLCL are great because they are realistic. This episode focuses on the wonderful world of High School gossip and how it can distort reality. The resident 'hot teacher' takes an interest in Parker and the rumors and ideas of what's really going on take a life of their own. Are the things that Parker think are developing between him and the teacher something more, or is his imagination getting the better of him. One thing for sure is Parker gets a lesson in humanity as he finds that teachers are people and have ideas and feelings. The episode is a little slow going and (thanks to afternoon television) kind of polished to not cause conflict with sensors and viewers. Aside from that the episode is a believable one and therefore true to Parker Lewis world.

Guest starring Shannon Tweed

Warning: Spoilers
Shannon Tweed, famous for her role in the 1980s movie Hot Dog, guest stars as teacher Ms. Mason in this second season episode, The Undergraduate. There are allusions to The Graduate, and also to the female teacher-male student relationship. It's a shame that whenever a teacher appears in an episode of Parker Lewis Can't Lose, they don't turn up again in later episodes. Anyway, Parker misunderstands Ms. Mason's intentions, especially when Ms Mason invites her over to her place, and no way could that happen unless the parents are also invited over as well as a chaperone. Anyway, Jerry Steiner gets his moment in the sun by playing Harold Hill in The Music Man, and it's so inspiring seeing him performing at the end.
Aaron Lustig is listed in the acting credits for this episode, but curiously he wasn't at the end of the episode credits and there's no character name associated with him for this episode.
