Quotes

  • Wedding Organizer : [wedding march is playing, while Kirsten is waiting her turn]  You all right, sweetheart?

Kirsten Bennett : Why? Why do you ask?

Wedding Organizer : Well, to be honest? You look a little on the green side.

Kirsten Bennett : Uh, I need... I need... just...

    [sighs]

Kirsten Bennett : Could you just...

    [exhales]

Kirsten Bennett : There's air outside, right?

[distressed, she leaves the church, sits outside and drops the bouquet]

Kirsten Bennett : [a truck door closes Charlie appears, and she relieved, looks at him]

  • [last lines]

Kirsten Bennett : [in Salinger's, door opens and Kirsten appears with the wedding dress on]

    [to Charlie]

Kirsten Bennett : You said count to 50.

[the siblings and Joe turn around surprised and Claudia shocked, sighs]

Kirsten Bennett : You didn't tell them?

Charlie Salinger : [to Kirsten]  Uh, not yet.

Kirsten Bennett : Here's an idea: Why don't I just go back to the truck and wait?

Charlie Salinger : No, Kirsten, wait.

    [he reaches her]

Kirsten Bennett : No, Charlie. This was a bad idea. This... this is a bad time. This is your last dinner. You guys should...

Joe Mangus : We're celebrating, actually.

    [while holding a happy Claudia]

Joe Mangus : The owner's decided not to sell. We're staying put.

    [Kirsten, surprised, smiles]

Bailey Salinger : You... you two didn't just...

Julia Salinger : Did you two just...

Claudia Salinger : What did you two just do?

Charlie Salinger : [holding hands]  We... we did not get married.

    [chuckles]

Kirsten Bennett : Well, I didn't get married. I mean, I didn't, and we didn't. But... but mainly, I didn't. Um, I was about to, but I... kind changed my mind. The thing with me is... always a bride, never a bride.

Julia Salinger : [everyone chuckles and smiles]  So, what does this mean?

    Charlie Salinger : Beats me.

Kirsten Bennett : Beats us. But probably... something good.

Charlie Salinger : Probably something pretty great.

    [chuckles]

Kirsten Bennett : [Julia leaves Owen, who runs to Kirsten's arms]  Hi, you.

    [she happily holds him]

Charlie Salinger : [to Owen]  Hey.

    [all laughing]

Charlie Salinger : So, what are the chances of getting something to eat around here?

Joe Mangus : Manicotti in five. The table needs setting. Make yourselves useful.

[the family happily reaches a table to have dinner]

  • [Charlie opens the door and is surprised to see Kirsten]

    Charlie Salinger : K...

Kirsten Bennett : I wanna know. I just... Just, just tell me, what, What were you thinking? What was going through your mind when, two days, two days before my wedding, Charlie, before my wedding to another man, you go and send me six dozen roses?

Charlie Salinger : Seven. Seven dozen. It was, it was kind of a buy six, get one free kinda thing.

Kirsten Bennett : Six, seven, whatever. It's sick. What are you trying to do? Are you trying to... ruin everything?

Charlie Salinger : No, look, I... I... I just think you're making a huge mistake by marrying this guy.

    Kirsten Bennett : You think?

    [scoffs]

Kirsten Bennett : Since when do you even get a vote? I mean, this is so... What about me, huh? What about what I want?

Charlie Salinger : You want Michael. You're in love with Michael.

Kirsten Bennett : Why is that so hard to believe? You... you've never even met him. How do you know he isn't the perfect man for me?

Charlie Salinger : Well, let's see, uh, a nice guy in his 30s, who just happens to have a child. You know what? He sounds like the perfect man for you, Kirsten. But you better be in love with more than his qualifications. And I think you're moving way too fast to know for sure.

Kirsten Bennett : [scoffs again]  Why don't we just stop acting like this is about me and just admit that this is really about you? You only want me back, Charlie, because you know you can't have me, and you're afraid of losing me.

Charlie Salinger : Yes, I am. Because I love you. And I think... I think... if you love me, then we can be happy together. So, do you? Love me?

Kirsten Bennett : I'm getting married, Charlie.

Charlie Salinger : That's not an answer.

Kirsten Bennett : [scoffs]  Do you love me?

    Charlie Salinger : Yes.

Kirsten Bennett : And you wanna be with me?

    Charlie Salinger : Yes.

Kirsten Bennett : And you're ready for all the things that you weren't ready for six months ago?

    Charlie Salinger : I am.

Kirsten Bennett : And you think I'm kidding myself? Ask yourself this, Charlie... Would you be doing any of this, feeling this way, wanting me so much, if you weren't watching everything else in your life go down the drain?
