Pete Nolan : That's just the beginning.

Gil Favor : I've come into a lot of dust storms before, nothing this cold.

Pete Nolan : I really don't know what they call them up here in Kansas. Down home, it would be a Texas Northener.
Dr. Gardner : Veterans' Hospital at Clay City, 6 miles out of Clay City. End of nowhere.

Gil Favor : How come they built it way out there?

Dr. Gardner : Easier to forget.
Dr. Gardner : The war's been over for you since '65. Whatever may have happened to you in it, you've probably forgotten by now.

Gil Favor : A man doesn't forget a war that easy.
Wishbone : Let him come to you for the pills. Nothing, only that, if he happens to forget, I'll find him and mighty well cram 'em down his throat.

Gil Favor : No, Wish. Let him come to you for the pills. If he skips one, fine. Two, even better. The day he doesn't take any, you come tell me.

Wishbone : How's he gonna get cured of what ails him if he don't take his medicine?

Gil Favor : It's the medicine that ails him.
Gil Favor : I told you to hold onto your medicine yourself.

Craig Kern : Jason is a good boy.

Gil Favor : That's no reason to put the responsibility on him.

Craig Kern : He don't mind that either. I just killed him.
