"Alphabety Spaghetti"

Just rewatching this episode for the umpteenth time and I really don't know why, but I have just seen something for the very first time.

I simply don't know why I haven't noticed this before, it's Lister cooking with a microwave.

He Mixes the ingredients in a bowl and throws it all into the empty microwave, and squirts some liquid in after it and closes the door.

When he opens the door he takes out, 2 plates of food with a metal devider between them.

What the hell?

Red Dwarf is one of my favourite ever comedy shows and, I love this episode its one of my favourites really hilarious.

We discover alter egos or alternate personalities of the Red Dwarf Posse, all very screwed up characters.

Funny sci-fi horror spoof

A shapeshifter alien boards Red Dwarf.

This is a strong episode with a number of sci-fi horror movie spoof scenes, sight gags and several very memorable one-liners, the best of which come from from Lister and Rimmer.

Due to the affects of the Polymorph on the crew members, Craig Charles, Chris Barrie, Danny-John Jules and Robert Llewelyn get to act as different versions of their characters. It's fun to see them with different personality traits but I only found the alternate Lister to be particularly funny. Other viewers might feel different as humour is always a subjective experience.

The creature a special affects are very amusing with inspiration coming from such movies as Alien, The Thing and Dark Star.

Unlike the first reviewer I was very much alive when the episode was first broadcast and it doesn't have quite the impact now as it did back then. Overall I thought it was worth 7.5/10 so to be kind I'm rounding upwards.

Polymorph

I wasn't alive when this episode aired, I wasn't alive a decade after it aired, yet I still regard it as a classic episode, why? Not because it has any particularly memorable lines, or is any better or worse than other episodes (It is just as good as all that came before). I think what makes it a classic in my eyes is the hilarity that follows the Polymorph around, I won't spoil the episode but I will say that wherever it goes televisial greatness is sure to follow.
