It's Christmas!

Wonderful episode, kind of a tear jerker with the call from a very lonely old lady who reported a prowler and only needs some company on Christmas after all, she baked all of those ginger bread cookies and had a turkey with all the fixings to share. Then there was the tear jerker moment with Santa coming to visit with Amanda and the gang:) Loved the humor of the exotic dancer who didn't want to dance on Christmas.

Seemed like they put a lot more heart into the writing of this episode.

A Good Christmas Episode

Jill's sister Amanda is separated from her husband and visits with her daughter at Mike and Jill's place on Christmas Eve.

An episodic but nice Yuletide show. Amanda is played by Elinor Donahue (Father Knows Best and she was currently appearing on The Odd Couple). Terry and Chris are on duty for the holiday and have many memorable encounters. There is a shocking shootout in a church, a young officer is shaken by it. Ruth McDevitt guests as a lonely old woman. Humor is suppled by Barbara Nichols as a stripper who will not work on Christmas. A disturbing scene involves a sicko peeping tom. Mike and Jill ask Lt. Ryker to play Santa Claus and he has a surprise scene later on.
