The Columbia Gardens referred to in the show was a big amusement park in operation from 1899 to 1973 when it closed and was subsequently destroyed by fire. The Gardens has gravity-fed roller coasters and a dance area. It was a well known attraction to the locals. The area is just west of I15 and North of US 90.
