Without Buz who is still in Pacoima Hospital, Tod has just been hired by wild animal exhibitor Peter Hale as a camel wrangler for his soon to be opened jungle park, Jungleland, in Thousand Oaks, California. Among the exhibits at the park is a memorial to Peter's first wife, Lisa Hale, a big cat tamer who was mauled and killed two years ago by a tiger during a circus performance in New York. Peter has asked his and Lisa's former agent, Philip Tager, to speak at the dedication ceremony. Peter's current wife, Julie Hale, cannot understand why Peter still keeps the tiger that killed Lisa, especially as Brauner, Lisa's father, still works with Peter and has to feed that tiger every day. Tod can see that Julie is caught between Peter and the memory of Lisa, Julie who seems to feel shut out of whatever Peter is still going through with respect to Lisa. The dedication ceremony may provide some closure for Peter to be able to move on with his life with Julie, but not without some demons, both real and mental, being put to rest.
