For a change, just when I had it figured out that they cannot afford to have everybody on the set, in this one, the gang's all there. Unfortunately, that means Aunt Hilda as well. And very little of Roxie.

Beth Broderick is obviously the one with spirit, so she's been totally miscast as nerdy bookish Aunt Zelda. In this episode, she pops out of her shell, behaving like a college girl. Well, she's the one who can more likely get away with it. Good thing it's not the other way round. Imagine Aunt Hilda being lifted aloft. Please, no!

On a more serious note, The Raven applauds anything that makes a tattoo parlor look like the uncool messy pigsty that it is. Run by big dumb dorks. Right on. If it helped one little girl get a negative view, more power to SABRINA THE TEENAGE WITCH!

Yeah, IMO, the show's status has been elevated in this season. I will however not stop niggling on about glaringly out-of-place Caroline Rhea. Never!

Shocking revelation

Warning: Spoilers
I used to love Sabrina. But now that I am watching the episodes again, I am shocked how hostile the show is/was against Europeans. From generic insults like "Euro Trash" over many offenses against the French up to ridiculous comparisons/mentionings of Germans, e. g., when Harvey tells about receiving a radio message he thinks is by the East Germans who might want to start another war (what? excuse me? have the writers lost their minds? The last thing the East Germans had on their mind was a war, let alone that Germany was reunited at the time of the making of the show and that there was no separate East Germany anymore and no cold war either ). But the most ridiculous thing is calling "Die Fledermaus" in the 'New roommate' episode a Nazi opera. First of all, it is no opera, it's an operetta, but you cannot expect Hollywood writers to do some research before they defame other nations, can you? And the operetta was written in the 19th century and has nothing to do with the Nazis. It's actually a great story about betrayal, revenge, a mask ball, and pretty progressive in portraying female characters on top. Since Hollywood does not make any distinction between Germans and Nazis from 80 years ago, you should stop drinking Nazi beer, eating Nazi pretzels, go to Nazi Octoberfests, watching movies on Nazi TV/using Nazi technology/appliances, driving Nazi cars, listening to Nazi music, taking Nazi money for your many film projects funded by Nazi production companies, etcetc. Why I keep pondering this? Because these evil hate crimes/insults/defamations are still a problem, actually, they are getting worse, completely uncalled for and ridiculous - I would not have been as shocked if it had been a CW or CBS show, because they can not hide their hate/I don't expect them to understand/show decency, but an ABS show, boy, you must be proud...
