Jeff Bridges Bubbles Up
wes-connors24 February 2012
Off-shore near Santa Barbara, expert skin-diver Mike Nelson (Lloyd Bridges) is having fun with an underwater traveling contraption he calls "The Scooter" when he finds a boy swimming out too far from the shore. Rescuing young Jeff Bridges (as Davy Crane) from potential death due to strong water currents gets no thanks from the kid's boastful father John Beradino (as Dave Crane). He is a derailed football player pushing his children like a demanding coach. Deep down, Mr. Beradino is a good father, but he may lose that role unless Mike can save the little Bridges and sister Andrea Kaplan (as Karen) from a watery death. Mike's lifeguard pal Don Eitner (as Willie) helps. Beradino will be a treat for daytime viewers of "General Hospital". The kids sing "Oh Susanna" for comfort, as water fills their cave. The boy is the star's son, in his first featured role. Young Jeff is about as good as anyone, which is meant to be encouraging; consider, not everyone has a chance to learn acting with your dad on a weekly TV series.

***** The Lost Ones (7/19/58) John Florea ~ Lloyd Bridges, John Beradino, Jeff Bridges, Don Eitner
