- Jerry has a hard time getting membership in the Friar's Club when the Flying Sandos Brothers take his jacket during a show. Meanwhile, Elaine suspects that a new co-worker (Rob Schneider) is faking a hearing disorder to get out of doing work.—halo1k
- Jerry is up for membership at the Friars Club and he invites George, Susan and her friend Hallie for dinner. He arrives without a jacket, which the club conveniently provides but he forgets to return it when he leaves. It all leads to a round of the jacket disappearing and then reappearing as people keep borrowing it and then sending it off to be cleaned. It all puts Jerry's membership at the club in doubt. Elaine meanwhile thinks a new employee at her work, Bob, is faking a hearing impairment to avoid having to do any work.—garykmcd
- George successfully delays his wedding until late June, three months after it was supposed to take place. Jerry goes out with Susan's best friend. Jerry has to borrow a house at the Friar's Club, when he takes George, Susan and Hallie (Samantha Smith) (Jerry's new girlfriend) out for dinner. Kramer tries Polyphasic sleep (20 minutes of sleep every day), also known as Da Vinci sleep. J. Peterman (John O'Hurley) hires a partially deaf employee, Bob Grossberg (Rob Schneider). Elaine suffers the consequences when she gets loaded with most of his work, due to his poor hearing.
Jerry then goes to a magic show the following evening & has to lend his Friar's club jacket to a group of magicians for their next act. The magician throws Jerry's jacket into the crowd as their "act". The magicians later refuse to acknowledge that they borrowed Jerry's jacket. Hallie promises Jerry that she would recover the jacket for him.
Elaine questions the employee's disability and coerces Jerry to test him. The results are inconclusive, and Elaine has some fun testing him by swearing her love for him. Elaine's boss overhears and gives them two tickets to the magic show where Jerry lost his jacket the night before. Elaine is pressured to attend by her boss, who suspects Elaine's remarks to Bob Grossberg were not sincere.
Kramer is dating Connie (Lisa Kushell), who never wants to leave his apartment. After Kramer falls asleep on her during a make-out session, she thinks that he's dead and calls some mobster-type friends of hers to "get rid" of him. Kramer is subsequently dumped into the Hudson River in a sack, waking him up after he falls into the water. After surfacing, he believes Connie tried to kill him.
Back at the Friar's club, Jerry has been summoned by the President of the club and given a stern warning to return the jacket. Jerry eventually finds the magicians who he believes took his Friar's Club Jacket (they were eating dinner at the Friar's club) and Jerry follows them to the theatre where they are having their next performance. Jerry he rips it from their hands, he finds that the jacket isn't his. The magicians had given the real Friar's Club jacket back to Hallie. Furious at Jerry, the magicians chase him and George backstage. Meanwhile, when Elaine's date, Bob, is being kicked out of the same theatre for nearly groping her and accidentally drops his hearing aid, Elaine takes the opportunity to try it on. Jerry and George, sprinting away from the magicians, seek the emergency exit. Unfortunately for Elaine, as soon as the exit opens, a high-pitched screech blasts through the hearing aid. Elaine then clutches her ears until she falls on the floor.
In the final scene, Kramer and the police show up at Connie's door. Connie opens the door; Kramer points her out to one of the officers. That officer informs Connie that she is under arrest. She denies doing anything wrong, but the officer tells her that he is taking her away. She asks if she can call her lawyer; the officer allows her. When the lawyer answers his phone, Connie tells him to meet her at the police station. The lawyer, who happens to be Jackie Chiles, asks her whom she was accused of attempting to murder. Learning that the person in question is Kramer, he tells Connie, "I don't want nothing to do with it." He hangs up, ending the episode.
