- Charlotte is shocked and Berger slightly embarrassed when Samantha enthusiastically explains how she enjoys role-plays with her sexy actor Jerry "Smith" Jerrod. Miranda is relieved when he says a man not calling her back just means not interested, as men don't send sexual double messages. When Carrie can't help herself and criticizes a futile detail in Berger's book, even though she loves it, he shuts down; Samantha cuts of Jerry when he confesses being in AA; both couples soon make up. Charlotte makes her first Sabbath a grand production- her pride and nitpicking don't make Harry set a wedding date as she desperately wanted but even walk out altogether.—KGF Vissers
- Berger teaches Miranda how to tell that a guy is "not that into her". Miranda went out with a guy, shared 2 kisses but the guys didn't come up to her apartment. All the girls feel this is promising, but Berger (who was invited to girls' night) says that the guy is not into Miranda. Berger says that if the guy was into her, he would have come upstairs when invited by Miranda. He says that guys are simple, they come upstairs, and they book the next date, when they like what they see. There are no mixed messages. Miranda feels the need to spread the word to other women.
The girls love Berger and he loves them, so Carrie and Berger exchange I love You for the first time. Berger writes a new book "Hurricane Pandora" and has Carrie read it. Carrie feels bad for criticizing a minor point in Berger's book. The leading lady wears a scrunchy and she lives in Manhattan and Carrie says real NYC women don't wear scrunchies. She is proven right when Berger tests the theory on a scrunchy wearing woman, and she turns out to be an out of town person. Carrie tries numerous times to point out all the good features of the book, but Berger thinks that it is a lame attempt to give him a pickup. Berger feels he is down in the dumps when Carrie assures him that the book is great, and they make up.
Charlotte cooks her first Shabbos dinner for Harry. She tells Miranda and Carrie that she is looking forward to a November wedding and Harry hasn't even proposed yet. Miranda is worried that Charlotte might get hurt. Charlotte says that she never would have put in so much effort if she wasn't sure about Harry. She says Harry and her have a way of understanding what the other wants and they don't need to talk about everything. Charlotte puts a lot of effort into the dinner, but Harry doesn't appreciate it at all (watches TV instead). Charlotte is super angry and says Harry is ugly and doesn't deserve her. Charlotte wants Harry to set the date for their wedding. Charlotte says that they look odd as a couple and Harry should feel lucky to have her in his life. Now Harry feels bad and leaves (he had a ring).
Samantha and Jerry act out all their sexual fantasies. Jerry is an aspiring actor. She is a housewife and he a burglar who comes in and has sex with her. They also play Senator, Principal and cellmate. Owning $300k in back taxes to IRS. Doctor checking for mumps. It's all going well when Jerry reveals he was in AA and recovering and hence doesn't drink alcohol. Samantha is jolted back to reality and learns more about Jerry.
Miranda goes out on a date with a friend of Harry, named Paul (Nick Gregory). After dinner, Miranda invites the guy for coffee at her place, but the guy says that he has to go. Miranda gets the hint that the guy is not into her and is OK with the same. Paul admits that he has diarrhea after eating the spicy Biryani and runs away.
