• Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : [in back of limousine]  You look great.

  Billi Brock : You mean, how could I give up a good steady job as a cocktail waitress?

  Billi Brock : I... moved to New York on a dare. Somebody bet me I couldn't make it, so I did.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Well, you're damn good.

  Billi Brock : I'm glad you think so.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Where are we going?

  Billi Brock : Uh, a personal appearance.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Where?

  Billi Brock : Club Tsunami.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Well, how come nobody told me about this?

  Billi Brock : [as he unzips bag]  I'll have Cliff give you my diary.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : [produces Kevlar vest]  I want you to wear this. Put it on.

  [tosses it onto her lap] 

  Billi Brock : [scoffs]  Yeah. I've got nothing to put it under. Besides, the combat retro look is way out of style.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Jill, put it on!

  Billi Brock : I can't wear it. I'll look stupid and

  [stammers] 

  Billi Brock : scared.

  [then, quietly:] 

  Billi Brock : You think I should be scared?

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : [nods]  Yeah.

  Billi Brock : Are you?

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Yes.

  [struggling for words] 

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : I just don't want you killed.

  Billi Brock : [smiles]  Can't happen. I'm with you.

• Billi Brock : What do you want me to do, Tom? Quit my job? Go into hiding?

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : If you keep pulling that kinda crap, you're going to get yourself killed.

  Billi Brock : Who do you think you're talking to? You know, I'm not some little groupie anymore. You do not tell me what is good for me and what isn't.

  Det. Sgt. Tom Ryan : Is the publicity worth that much? What's happened to you?

  Jacqueline 'Jackie' Webster : [intervenes]  That's it. She's doing her job, and if you do the job we paid you for, she'll be fine and we'll be gone in a couple of days

  Det. Sgt. Cassandra 'Cassy' St. John : Tom, I think we all want the same thing here, and that is Billi alive. Let's work towards that.

  Jacqueline 'Jackie' Webster : I'm not canceling my scheduled events.

  Cliff Carpenter : What if we secure the location, we beef up the bodyguards, nobody goes in or out without a pass?

  Jacqueline 'Jackie' Webster : [considers]  I can do that.

  Det. Sgt. Cassandra 'Cassy' St. John : [to Tom]  Can you live with that?
