In the opening scene, Lana comes over to see Clark. As she is walking up the stairs, Clark closes his textbook. In the next shot, the textbook is open.
Lex removes a vial of antidote from the heating cabinet with his bare fingers immediately after it was heated to 1000 K and injects it. The temperature was shown as cooled from 1,000K to a more manageable 300K.
When talking about the antidote, the scientist states it will be ready when it reaches "One thousand degrees Kelvin". As Kelvin is an absolute unit, it is not measured in degrees. The scientist should have said "One thousand Kelvin" (written 1000K).
No one would leave patients in that kind of distress untreated. There are plenty of drugs that can be given to the patients to slow their heart rate, lower their blood pressure and calm their nerves and that could also possibly end their nightmare.
When Lana has her nightmare, at least one of the body bags can be seen "breathing".
