Absolutely brilliant episode which features two of my favourite characters from the show (Timmy and Gobbles)

Superb episode which perfectly satirises musical theatre. Timmy is one of my favourite characters on the show anyway so having him featured in an episode is always great and Gobbles the turkey just steals your heart. Overall one of my favourite episodes of this season and the combination of the darker tone and the episode's lighter moments makes for a near-flawless episode.

Decent episode with one of the most disturbing scenes on south park

Helen Keller the musical is a mediocre episode of south park.It had a few laughs but overall I did not like it as much as the others. The plot involves the 4th grade students putting on a play about Helen Keller. However, a rumor is that the kindergartens have an awesome play! So the boys decide to make it better.SInce it's thanksgiving, they decide that Helen should have a pet turkey.Timmy plays Helen Keller. When they go pick out the turkey, Timmy wants the retarded turkey. They decide to bring in this very good turkey who will not work with others, so the man who owns the turkey lies to Timmy and tells him that people want to take it away.Timmy sends it off but finds out later that he lied, so he sets off to retrieve the turkey. It was a decent episode but the episodes are usually better.A very disturbing scene in this one is when Cartman puts on a blindfold and we see his very disturbing visions(in a spoof of Clockwork Orange).

Gobbles!!(OK,I won't shout, but it IS part of the phrasing)

Being a bit of a theater(live theater)buff,as well as a movie and TV addict,I had to appreciate the humor in "The Miracle Worker:The Musical" plot, combined with the central focus of this show on two characters:one of my all-time faves Timmy, the extremely bright retarded(Autistic?),wheelchair-bound boy who says very little besides his name(REAL LOUD!!!)and his newfound beloved pet:Gobbles,an equally retarded turkey. Timmy storms out of a rehearsal of the school's annual traditional staging of said musical when his beloved turkey is eschewed in favor of a prima donna,"professional" turkey.

Disturbing(but inspired)scenes involving turkeycide, and a choice usage of Matt and Trey's disparagement of "professional stage actors" and their particular distaste for "Les Misarables" and "Rent" color that year's Thanksgiving entry. One of many choice eps in this show's continuing cannon of work.
