Quotes

  • Quark : There's an old Ferengi expression: good things come in small packages.

  • Quark : One man's priceless is another man's worthless.

  • Odo : [interrupting a patented Sisko rant at an alien species]  Excuse me, Commander...

Sisko : [not taking his eyes off the alien]  Yes, Odo?

Odo : Before you blame them, you might want to ask Quark just how this all started.

Sisko : [Sisko turns his melt-neutronium gaze on Quark, the alien forgotten]  Quark...

Quark : I wish I could explain it... um... they just had a run of bad luck, and then they blamed me for their losses! And, uh...

Odo : That's not what you said when you were groveling on the floor.

Quark : [realizing he's caught]  Oh, that's right. You were here for the groveling.

  • Falow : We like games.

    Quark : Doesn't everybody?

  • Falow : Your pieces will meet the Chandra.

Quark : The Chandra? What does that mean? Is that good or bad?

    Falow : Neither. Both.

    Quark : I don't understand.

Falow : Ah, but there's the key. Some will never understand, while others will consider it... mere child's play.

  • Quark : I'll never cheat again!

  • [the Wadi Leader Falow has informed Quark that he has to choose one of his three remaining pawns symbolizing Sisko, Dax and Kira, to sacrifice in order to save the other two pawns]

Odo : You can't ask him to do that.

Falow : If you do not sacrifice one, all three will be lost.

    Quark : I can't. Please.

Falow : [as cool as ice]  Which player?

Quark : I don't even know which one is which.

Falow : [loud and cold]  *Select* ONE to be sacrificed, or else the game is finished!

    Quark : [shouts]  FINE! FINE.

    [Quark calms himself down]

    Quark : Fine! Fine.

[Quark hovers his shaking hand over each pawn individually. He finds himself unwilling to sacrifice any of them]

Quark : [breaking down]  *I can't do it!* I beg of you. A terrible mistake has been made. This is all a misunderstanding! Please!

[He gets down on his knees; voice breaking]

Quark : I've learned my lesson... . I'll never cheat again. *I'LL NEVER CHEAT AGAIN!* PLEEAASE! Just don't make me do this! Anything but this!

[Quark holds up his hands, begging]

Quark : [wailing]  PLEASSE! PLEASSE! PLLEEEAAASSSSE!

[With a pitiful, heart-wrenching cry, Quark slumps to the floor, sobbing bitterly]

Falow : [after a pause; convinced]  Very well...

Quark : [Quark stops crying and looks up, his eyes wide with expectancy]  I don't have to make a sacrifice?

Falow : No. You do not.

[Quark heaves a sigh of relief]

  • Quark : Commander, I'm a host. A host is an ambassador of good will. The more good will that I can generate, the longer they'll stay... the greater my profits.

  • [last lines]

Quark : You know, this game could work here. It really could. Excue me.

Quark : [running after him]  Falow! Mr Felow! A word with you, sir. What's your hurry? I think you'll like this. Mr Falow!
