- TriviaFionnula Flanagan is an accomplished violinist in real life, and performed her own viola playing at the ship's concert. Fionnula Flanagan learned to play the viola while rehearsing this scene, spending a lot of time learning those six to eight bars of music, in order to make it convincing for the camera.
- GoofsWhen Data enters sickbay, he is carrying his violin and bow, as if he had walked to sickbay directly from the recital in Ten Forward, yet, when he is told to report to the transporter room because of an emergency on the planet, Dr. Pran Tainer has just been injured on the planet's surface. The time line makes no sense; both Dr. Pran Tainer and his wife, Dr. Juliana Tainer, have been present at Data's recital. How could the male Dr. Tainer have had time to transport to the planet's surface and begin work? And why isn't the female Dr. Tainer still wearing the outfit she had worn at the recital?

Now I see where one of the worst ideas in Picard came from...
I'm catching up on the few episodes of TNG that I have either forgotten about completely or never saw back in the day.
In this episode the character of Dr. Juliana Tainer was once a human, who died and was replaced by an exact android copy injected with the contents of Tainer's mind & personality, and would continue to age and die just like the real Tainer would have.
Bingo! I thought, this idea was lifted whole-sale for the events at the end of Picard season 1, where the exact same thing happens to Picard.
It's more clear than ever that the producers of Picard were not TNG fans, all they did after landing the job was to watch season 7 of TNG, a decidedly below-par season, then rip-off a few ideas out of that for Picard.
This might go some way in explaining why Picard turned out the way it did......
