- When the Pentagon considers to pull the plug on the stargate program because it failed so far to bring back strategically relevant technologies, Teal'c suggests a visit to a planet where the Fen'ri, giant flying bugs, have an ability even the goa'uld envy: invisibility at will. At arrival, SG-1 finds the stargate disappears behind them, and they failed to set a homing device, unlike even worse news: a goa'uld party of a few Jaffa headed by Apophis, who has a personal protection shield even Teal'c never knew about. Although they only have tranquilizing weapons battle is engaged, disastrously: the humans are killed, Teal'c suddenly disappears before Apophis eyes. They finds each-other revived in the primitive village of the Nox, whose healing power must be about limitless, but so is Jaffa Shak'l, who even plays dead, clearly still intending to kill for Apophis. The team is proven right about Apophis, but slowly learns the Nox aren't as simple or helpless as they seemed, and insist the humans must return to earth in peace, refusing to share knowledge...—KGF Vissers
- The Stargate program is coming under increasing pressure from Washington to produce new weaponry from their various forays to other worlds. The implication is quite clear that if they don't, the program may not continue. Teal'c suggests a visit to a planet where there exists some type of cloaking technology, one that the Goa'uld have never been able to take control of. No sooner than the SG-1 team arrives than the gate simply disappears. They also see that Apophis is on the planet, presumably looking for the same cloaking capability. They decide to ambush him but fail horribly and are all badly wounded. They all wake up however in the care of the Nox, the simple and forest-loving people of the planet. The SG-1 team now feel they have put the Nox in danger and set out to protect them. Not all is as it first seems however, as SG-1 will soon learn.—garykmcd
