  Lois Lane : [angry shouts from audience members]  He's gotta have something up his sleeve.

  Clark Kent : I hope so.

  Lex Luthor : Quiet, please! The missiles will never make it here, thanks to... this.

  [a large weapon is unveiled] 

  Lex Luthor : The LexCorp Sky Sentry. Its high-energy magnetic beam is designed to knock out the guidance system of any incoming missile. Activate.

  [the machine powers down] 

  Lex Luthor : I said activate!

  Sky Sentry Operator : It's not responding, sir. The field setting's been reprogrammed!

• Lex Luthor : I must admit a grudging admiration, Brainiac. These microcircuits are more advanced than anything I've ever seen.

  Brainiac : A minor problem, easily eliminated.

  Clark Kent : Maybe he should *make* time.

  Mercy Graves : [blocking his way]  Hey! One more step and it gets ugly.

  Clark Kent : [getting past her and opening the door to Lex's office]  What are you trying to pull here? Where's Luthor?

  Mercy Graves : He... he was right here. You saw him.

  Clark Kent : [picking up a coffee cup]  This coffee's ice cold. Nobody's been here for a while. Well?

  Mercy Graves : I'm afraid you're gonna have to leave, Mr. Kent. Now.

  Clark Kent : [stopping at the door]  Do yourself a favor, Ms. Graves. Call me when your lord and master turns up.
