Cyrus' truck has been sitting submerged in a swamp (and presumably rusting) for 40 years, but when the Winchesters go to open the door the handle is still shiny and the door opens easily on the first try.
In the first car vs truck scenario, the car that crashes is a Ford. Later while looking at the wreckage, the car is a Chrysler or Dodge.
When Dean looks at his odometer when Sam tells him to go exactly seven tenths of a mile it reads 70098 the next time he looks down it reads 70100. .
Cassy tells Dean and Sam "In the accident, dad's truck was dented..." But her dad was driving a car, not a truck.
During the opening sequence of this episode, you can see that the truck is chasing down the car is empty. Once the scene continues, you can see a few camera men/ crew men riding in the back of the truck.
In the opening sequence, when the Ford skids to a stop in front of the truck, the camera pans down to a shot looking through the cab from the bed of the truck. In the next shot the truck is racing off after the Ford again, and you can clearly see the camera crew in the left side of the truck bed.
When the truck follows the car in the opening scene you can clearly see at least four people ' Presumably Crew Members' standing in the back of the truck looking over the top of it.
At 02:25, you can see a crew member behind the steering wheel of the truck.
Another mix up between Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Somewhere, Mississippi is that Cape is not a fishing town much less one where you can get crabs and scallops as seen on signs in the episode. Cape Girardeau is on the Mississippi river which has neither.
It is stated that the story takes place in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. However, the license plates on all the cars are from Mississippi. This was perhaps a necessary change due to the fact that it was snowing during time of shooting and it doesn't usually snow in Mississippi, especially not in May, which was the month in which this story took place.
US route 6 does not run through Missouri, but runs to the north through
Nebraska and Iowa.
The mayor asks, "What do you want me to do, close the main road, the only road in and out of town?" Cape Girardeau sits on I-55, MO-74 and there are several other roads in and out of the city.
A sign for Decatur Rd is shown and mentioned by Dean ("about 2 miles off the highway") but there is no Decatur Rd in Missouri in real life.
