The Best Episode

That's saying allot since I'm a big fan of this show. But The Road To Macadamia is most definitely the greatest episode. The reason for this can be summed up in two words: Chancellor Trample. Chancellor Trample is completely psychotic yet keeps it under a veneer of tranquility. He possesses a devious voice (courtesy of the great Hugh Weaving) and everything about him just screams "power." There's also King Amok the bunny and Lotta Lamour the literal fox. Baloo and Louie are their usual funny selves and Amok also adds comedy. Lotta Lamour is your typical rebellious princess (think of Ariel or Jasmine). But as I said, Trample is the highlight. I especially love the scene with Trample in front of the fire, looking almost like Frollo from Hunchback of Notre Dame. All in all, my personal favourite episode of an overall great show. I only wish Trample was in more episodes, but I guess that's what fanfiction is for.

Macadamia war

'Talespin' has always been a show dear to my heart. One of those favourites from a young age that holds up really well, and is even more entertaining through adult eyes from appreciating the writing and stories even more.

Have been on a roll reviewing individual episodes for certain shows, animated, non-animated and of as many genres as possible (many as part of certain quests), and decided to do it with 'Talespin' and some others. Something that, as expected and hoped, has proven to be a more than worthwhile project and experience. Also have "The Road to Macadamia" as one of my favourite episodes.

The animation is very colourful and atmospheric as always. The music matches what is going on perfectly and it is impossible to forget or resist the theme song, one of the catchiest for anything Disney and ever.

Writing is witty, very funny without being too silly and thought-probing without being complicated. Things don't get too childish and it is all easy to follow. The story is hugely compelling and lively in pace without being rushed, and executes a nice idea imaginatively with a bucket-load of action and adventure. Trample's fire scene is a highlight.

Baloo and Louie throughout 'Talespin' were such a great double act, they already have distinct personalities that are funny and likeable and their chemistry sparkles. Do agree though that Trample is the main reason as to why the episode is so great, one of not many guest characters to steal the show from under Baloo and Louie. Amok is fun and Lotta may be rebellious but charming.

Voice acting is terrific, especially for Trample though Ed Gilbert and Jim Cummings are their usual more than reliable selves.

In summary, wonderful episode and one of my favourites from 'Talespin'. 10/10 Bethany Cox
