Iconic actor George Macready is perfectly cast as the over-protective, vindictive father who is searching for his daughter, Phoebe (actress Floy Dean).
Actor Clu Gallagher ("Billy the Kid") puts on one of his finest performances in the entire 2 year run of this show. Actor Barry Sullivan has some great lines that could have been spoken in real life by the highly-respected Sheriff Pat Garrett, including: "Mr. Canfield, NOBODY orders me!"
Watching the final episode of this classic Western TV show, seeing Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid ride their horses out of town for the last time, is very moving.
