- Kelso is back from Chicago: he has a daughter, Betsy, and his paternal status makes him even more desirable to Kimberly (Nectar Rose). Kimberly says that Kelso's single fatherhood is the cutest thing she had ever heard of. Kelso takes Kimberly out on a date, and they end up in his convertible at a secluded spot. But Kelso realizes she is someone's daughter too, and his own conquest somehow feels sordid. He himself would not like his baby girl to be with a guy like him. Kelso drives Kimberly home.
Kelso realizes that he no longer sees women as sex objects. To test Kelso, Donna dangles her breasts right next to Kelso's face and yet he cannot grab them. He says he respects women now. Kelso fears he may never have sex again. Kelso says that he needs a loophole, so he can keep doing what he has been doing, without feeling that he is a bad father.
Kelso comes up with a new system. Before a date, he tells candidly to the date's father, what he would do to his little girl on the date. Before his next date with Kimberly, Kelso decides to come clean to her father. Kelso says that he plans to do things of a sexual nature with Kimberly and says that he has a newfound respect for women, since he has a daughter out of wedlock. He seeks permission to pleasure Kimberly time and time again. Only, the father punches Kelso in the face, which he hadn't anticipated.
Hyde hasn't called his dad again after having a good time him the last time they went out together. Jackie nags relentlessly but Hyde does not budge. Jackie complains to Kitty, who agrees that Hyde needs a father. Jackie says that her bag of tricks is empty, and nothing has worked with Hyde. Kitty gets Hyde to call his 'lost dad' Barnett again.
Eric decides to (ab)use his 'year off' for undeserved treats, such as bubble gum ice cream, and doing things he always dreamed off, such as vandalizing a local shop.
Red is now fit enough to start working again but cannot find a job. Red takes everyone to the muffler shop (since the vista cruiser had a bad muffler and Eric didn't seem to care at all) only to find it's out of business. Eric decides to vandalize the shop by shorten the word muffler to 'muff' with the gang. Eric, Hyde and Fez vandalize every sign in the shop by removing the "Ler".
Red, who is tired of his failing job applications, has news after a visit to the bank. He has bought the muffler shop. Red finds bubble gum ice-cream at the shop and knows that Eric had something to do with the vandalism. Kitty does not understand the word "muff" and cannot get what Red is so livid about. Later, Kitty learns from her friend, what the slang "muff" really means and is very upset with her family.
Eric decides to stand up to Red and be brave. He asks Red to accept his apology man-to-man and promises that he will fix the shop. Red won't listen, so Eric chugs one of his beers to make his point.
