- [Andy is trying to talk business to Mr. Carlson, who is seemingly unaware as he plays with his toy]
- Andy Travis: What did I just say?
- Arthur Carlson: Geez, don't you know?
- [Herb is trying to get Andy and Mr. Carlson to sign what looks to be a legal letter]
- Andy Travis: [reading the letter] "Herbert R. Tarlek, sales manager, WKRP, is essential and indispensable to the operation of the company."
- [Mr. Carlson begins to laugh]
- Arthur Carlson: [to Herb] What the heck is this, a joke?
- Andy Travis: If they pay, they're clients. If they don't, they are charity.
- Dr. Johnny Fever: [mockingly] Thanks, "Herb".
- [Johnny is playing "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen on his show]
- Queen: [sung] Hey, I'm gonna get you too! Another one bites the dust!
- [the song ends]
- Dr. Johnny Fever: And not a moment too soon either, babies. That was Queen, with their big hit,
- [sighs]
- Dr. Johnny Fever: one that I never particularly cared for, but nevertheless forced to play here on WKRP.
- Walter: If we are going to talk evidence, let's not forget the fireplace poker.
- [collective confusion by the other jurors]
- Walter: Just a little joke. The old immigrant man made a little joke.
- Herb Tarlek: Crime is no joke.
- Walter: Talk to your tailor.
- Arthur Carlson: [entering the reception area from his office] Jennifer, for the next hour, I will be taking all calls and seeing all visitors.
- Jennifer Marlowe: [matter-of-factly] All righty.
- Arthur Carlson: Probably no surprise hearing that from me. The only surprises I feel are hearing myself saying it.
- Jennifer Marlowe: Mr. Carlson, nothing you do surprises me.
- Arthur Carlson: Uh. Been reevaluating, Jennifer. Been thinking.
- Jennifer Marlowe: And you should. You're the boss, and for that reason I will let no calls and no visitors disturb you.
- Arthur Carlson: [as he heads back into his office] Thank you, Jennifer.
- Andy Travis: I got close to collecting $9,000 from Smilin' Al. His cousin Claude's giving him...
- Herb Tarlek: Bad check, right?
- Andy Travis: [surprised] Yeah.
- Herb Tarlek: And he got a whole bunch of new spots at a ridiculously low price.
- Andy Travis: [sheepishly] Wasn't ridiculously low.
- Herb Tarlek: [laughing, then pointing to his brain mid sentence] Oh, Andy, he did that to me twenty times... then I got smart.
- [last lines]
- [Herb is talking to Andy about his experience serving as jury foreman]
- Herb Tarlek: Hey Andrew, I want to ask you something. Have you ever been in charge of a, a whole group of people who didn't listen to you or cared what you said?
- Andy Travis: Ah, yeah, Herb. Yeah, I have.
- Herb Tarlek: [obliviously to who Andy is referring] What happened?
- Andy Travis: What happened, Herb...
- [Andy puts his arm around Herb's shoulder as they exit the office to head off for a drink]
- Jennifer Marlowe: [entering Mr. Carlson's office] Good morning. And how are you two?
- Arthur Carlson: Fine.
- Jennifer Marlowe: No bad moods, or unresolved anger?
- Arthur Carlson: No, I don't think so, uh...
- Jennifer Marlowe: I can't hear you, Andy.
- Andy Travis: No, I'm... I'm okay.
- Jennifer Marlowe: Then neither one of you is waiting for an excuse to explode?
- [imitates detonated bomb]
- Arthur Carlson: No.
- Jennifer Marlowe: Isn't that nice?
- [turns back to doorway]
- Jennifer Marlowe: It's okay, Herb.
- Herb Tarlek: [entering] Morning, gentlemen!
- Jennifer Marlowe: Never ask me to do this again, Herb.
- [leaves, closes door]
- Jennifer Marlowe: So there we are, standing at my front door, and he says, "Jennifer, some women would feel obligated after flying to New Orleans on a private jet, and a moonlight dinner on a Mississippi river boat. But I prefer a challenge..."
- [Les is hanging on to her every word]
- Jennifer Marlowe: "Someone... someone who is interested in me and not my money."
- Bailey Quarters: What did you do?
- Jennifer Marlowe: Well, I wished him luck, kissed him on his bald spot, and wheeled him to his car.
